Improvisation and stand-up comedy

Our comedy and improvisation workshops provide an introduction to the art form of stand-up comedy and have helped young people explore topics in a creative and fun way.

Aims

  • To have the skills to communicate confidently and effectively through improvisation techniques
  • Develop problem solving and thinking skills using humour
  • Increase coping skills

Outcomes

  • Increased confidence
  • Communication and presentation skills
  • Tools for thinking quickly and differently
  • Subject themes such as language comprehension, history, science can also be introduced

Features

  • Improvisation and stand-up comedy can be delivered as a one-off taster workshop or as a series of workshop sessions that culminate in a show.
  • Workshop last approximately 2 hours
  • Group size of between 12 and 15
  • Suitable for ages between 12-18

Inspire your students to find their voices, become creative thinkers and improve their communication and writing skills. Our comedy and improvisation workshops provide an introduction to the art form of stand-up comedy and have helped young people explore topics in a creative and fun way.

The improvisation and stand-up comedy workshop activities include:

  • writing and performing comedy material
  • using improvisation to help revision

The sessions are an ideal way to engage students back into learning after the holidays and also allow them to get to know their new classmates. We have a team of award-winning comedians who will engage, inspire and motivate students - and we love to get the staff involved too!
