Supporting school Leaders during Covid-19
School leaders from the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) are facing a return to classrooms.
They wanted to pro-actively support children, families, teachers and the wider learning community. With hardly any concerted leadership from central government, teachers and school leaders have been left to develop their own strategies.
We were invited to deliver our ‘Mind the gap – getting school-ready’ programme for the team. Over thirty leaders attended the two-part session. The first part covered topics including positive communications, creating safe environments and developing strategic behaviours.
The second part was all about supporting mental health and wellbeing. Schools will increasingly have to positively and proactively manage mental health while supporting vulnerable staff who can’t return to work. The session explored how to create mental health champions and put in place early interventions to spot and support people in crisis.
‘Thank you Laughology for a very practical and positive programme that will help us think about actions we can put into place. It has helped us think about what we need to do and given us some direction. RBWM School leader.’
