Mind the gap: Supporting managers and teams back to work
Even before the coronavirus crisis, mental health issues were the number one cause of long-term absence among UK workers. Lockdown will have undoubtedly exacerbated this issue.
Supporting people to be mentally ready to return to work, and to cope with changes in patterns and practices, is a major challenge for organisations.
Through July, Mind the gap for managers and teams was our most popular sessions. We delivered to organisations such as Napp Pharmaceuticals, Enginuity and Siemens and worked with over 1000 individuals across all organisations.
The two-part programme gives managers and teams skills to flourish through uncertainty. It helps delegates identify mental health issues and shows how they can create a virtual environment supporting wellbeing and preventing ill mental health.
The sessions explore building resilience and creating virtual psychologically safe and happy environments. Over 85% of participants agreed or strongly agreed that they gained practical ways to build resilience. 96% agreed or strongly agreed they had techniques to support themselves and their colleagues through challenges. 92% agreed or strongly agreed they had new ways to increase mental health and create positive balance for themselves and their colleagues.
The new programme has been successful in supporting teams and individuals. We even managed to give away 224 Curly Wurlys, five signed copies of the Laughology book, 25 keyrings and 42 Laughology stress squidgy men. Not bad for a fully virtual programme!
