How a Growth Mindset Can Help Maintain Positive Relationships in the Staffroom

With Lockdown 2.0 and the myriad of COVID-19 restrictions and regulations in place, it can feel hard to adopt a growth mindset at the moment.

As teachers and school leaders, you’re tackling so many external challenges, it feels like just one more last-minute set of government guidelines will be enough to send you into a spiral of negativity. Any hint of a growth mindset is at risk of being wiped away in yet another deep clean.

But maintaining a growth mindset is the way to see it through. It’s not always easy, but noticing when you’re allowing negativity to creep in will really boost your mental health. One way to encourage positivity is through maintaining positive relationships in the staffroom. It’s arguably more important now than ever. Negative language often appears when things feel beyond our control, but working hard to keep the staffroom full of positivity will make it a supportive place to be.

So we’ve rooted around in the Laughology archives this week and pulled out How to Develop Positive Relationships in the Staffroom and Beyond. It’s one of our most popular PSHE-related blog posts and will help you maintain those positive relationships in the staffroom and beyond.
