Tolworth Primary School delivers new Happy-Centred School Achievement and Success module

Our latest accredited Laughology Happy-Centred School has embarked on a new module in the HCS curriculum.

This half term, Tolworth Primary has decided to concentrate on ‘achievement and success’, one of the five key themes of happiness covered in the scheme. The lesson plans for this module contain material on growth mind set and metacognition, which is the awareness and understanding of one's thought process and learning style.

The lessons help children and staff understand individual learning processes, which in turn improves the ability to learn. It is an important subject for the whole school and especially for years five and six as they approach their SATS.

In preparation for the new module, we delivered a twilight session at the school, which did not involve any teenage vampires and is the name given to after school sessions. The sessions are part of the HSC package (vampires not included). We explained how teachers can effectively deliver the lesson plans and provided key thinking around growth mindset feedback for children and P4C (Philosophy for Children).

Tolworth Primary School has now begun delivering the achievement and success resources and lessons plans across the whole school
