Building resilience with FLIP-it Thinking at Summerswood Primary

Victoria Maitland has been enjoying lots of virtual visits to schools during April & May.

On the 13th May, she headed to Summerswood Primary School in Hertfordshire to deliver FLIP-it Thinking to the Year 6 pupils. It was a session to look at developing resilience and exploring how changing the way we think can help us face problems.

After considering how problems would be with us throughout our lives, the session helped students look at inspirational figures as a stimulus for how we can help our brains to deal with difficult times – considering how they might think and what they might say to themselves to focus their minds.

Through some fun and energetic games with Victoria, the students learned how their brain reacts to positive and negative scenarios and how we can make things easier for ourselves. The FLIP-it Thinking method left the students at Summerswood Primary with a step-by-step process for feeling happier and more confident in dealing with problems.
