“The work Laughology is doing is great, its really is important to laugh and keep you sense of humour through life’s ups and downs. It was something that kept me going after my surgery recently and why I am using humour and laughter to help raise money for the wonderful team of people that helped look after me.”

Getting to the root of happiness
August 2008
A Liverpool dentist has hired Laughology to get to the root of patients’ fears.
Patients at the city centre Pall Mall dental clinic will be given the option of having their ribs tickled before braving the dentist’s chair.
Director of Laughology, Stephanie Davies is running “laughter technique” classes at the clinic this month in a bid to extract as much fear as possible from patients. The clinic booked us after statistics showed a trip to the dentist is seen as no laughing matter by a quarter of patients.
Stephanie says, “Humour helps shape outlook. It allows us to detach emotionally from a situation and instead focus on solutions. It can help us to live in the present moment and not be distracted by the negative.”
British Dental Association figures show one in four people in the UK feels anxious about visiting the dentist and regularly avoids appointments.
