“The work Laughology is doing is great, its really is important to laugh and keep you sense of humour through life’s ups and downs. It was something that kept me going after my surgery recently and why I am using humour and laughter to help raise money for the wonderful team of people that helped look after me.”

Laughology working with Chester University to help reduce childhood obesity
At a time when health problems linked to obesity are becoming increasingly common in the UK with too much food with a high fat or sugar content and a lack of physical activity means that many children are becoming overweight and some even develop the health problems usually seen in adults - The University of Chester has taken a positive step towards tackling this problem.
Professor Kevin Sykes, Director of the University’s Centre for Exercise and Nutrition Science, is an expert on obesity and has been instrumental in introducing a new MSc in Weight Management to the Centre’s unique range of courses for the forthcoming academic year.
The first masters degree of its kind in the UK, Chester’s Weight Management programme is endorsed by the National Obesity Forum (NOF) and Laughology has been asked to deliver part of the course. The Laughology programme looks at encouraging young people to develop a positive relationship with food and how parents, carers and young people can have fun when preparing it.
The first programme was delivered in June and was well received and we have had very positive feedback. Laughology will continue to develop and deliver this programme over the coming months.
