Why did the baker have brown knuckles?

…because he kneaded a poo!

Sorry, Adrian Shedden from Burges Salmon made us do it.

Telling the occasional one-liner may not be the only reason you would win a happiness award, but some of them are so sick we feel compelled to share them with you, and that stinker (couldn't resist that one) was part of a nomination from Adrian Shedden in his submission for Nathan Dudgeon from Burges Salmon to win the Happiest Employee award.

And it looks like Burges Salmon have a boastful riches of happiness in all sections of their organisation, demonstrated by their recent submissions for the Happiest Employee category of the National Happiness Awards 2017.

Rebecca Jensen nominated Colin Brown for the Happiest Employee award and said about Colin: 'Colin Always asks how his employees weekends were, always makes time to ask us if we've got too much work on, or if he can help in any way at all. Always looks at the positive side of a situation and always tries to lighten the mood in stressful situations.'

Sakshi, a trainee solicitor, from Burges Salmon in Bristol, nominated Phil Kershaw for the Happiest Employee award because 'Phil is always smiling. No matter how dark his day may be, he will always laugh with others. He always makes me smile when I see him. Positivity lights the room!'

And just to give you an idea of Adrian Shedden's (now known at Laughology Towers as poo boy) dark mind, Nathan Dudgeon has nominated him for a Happiest Employee award because he shared an office with him without realising he 'would be doing weird yoga stretches on his desk, drawing smiley faces on the leaves of his plant, or pulling pranks like convincing a poor new employee (me) that pure clove essence was a good thing to eat. Seriously, I had a single drop and everyone I spoke at during the rest of the day winced at me, and I couldn't taste my dinner.

His positivity is infectious. It certainly made me (and others) settle into the company way faster than I expected, and challenged me to be more positive myself. That's the best kind of happiness I think - the one that overflows from you and encourages others to be happy and enjoy their jobs too.
