Kirk Smeaton CE Primary School - Happiest School Employee nomination

Kirsty Wilkinson, a Teacher from Kirk Smeaton CE Primary School, has nominated Beth Hursthouse for a Happiest School Employee 2017 award.

In her nomination, Kirsty said:

'Beth is my jobshare partner and our PE and Literacy coordinator.

'We nicknamed her after the PE teacher in Glee as she's pretty competitive, but that also makes her a fantastic team player.

'She's always looking for new and innovative ideas to share and make everyone's life that little bit easier and she tries to make other people happy - last week she brought in Wispas for everyone.

'The kids love her inspirational PE lessons; it's a highlight of their week. The children come first in her teaching, and she works tirelessly to make sure they understand something and don't get left behind.

'Her wacky ideas engage and enthral the children - like getting dressed up as a Jedi Warrior (essentially a dressing gown) to enable the children to become grammar masters, or as an air hostess to take the children on a virtual trip to St Lucia. She's full of energy and creativity and rarely lets us see her on an off day - her energy is infectious, and she's a pleasure to be around.'
