Happiest school nomination for Middleton Primary School in Leeds

Richard O'Neill, a visiting artist at Middleton Primary School in Leeds, reckons it is the happiest school in the UK, and that is why he has nominated it in the Happiest School category of the National Happiness Awards 2017.

Richard's nomination said about Middleton Primary School:

'Because despite there being some challenges for the parents/carers, pupils and teachers in this area of Leeds. The head, leadership team, teachers, TA's, and everyone else in the school are a real team who focus on delivering the very best for the children.

'The staff room is full of positive talking and laughter, and as a someone working temporarily at the school, you are made to feel instantly welcome and part of the team.

'The head and leadership team are always looking at improving what they do. There is no whining or moaning at this school.

'I love working there. Which other primary schools would be brave enough to allow a creative like me to deliver the first Tattoo literacy and art project - why did they do it? Because at least 80% of parents/carers have tattoos and they wanted to show that real inclusion is about reflecting your culture.'

Is your school happier than Middleton Primary School? Why not nominate them for a happiness award. There are seven categories, for both schools and businesses, in this year's awards.

The awards get nationwide coverage, and there are great prizes to be won, not to mention a big shiny trophy you can pick up at a happiness-studded awards ceremony in London. And if that's not enough - it's free to enter!
