Apps for Good, an organisation which helps 10-18 year-olds to build mobile apps and IoT (internet of things) products, have been nominated in the Happiest Workplace category of the National Happiness Awards 2017.

Gerry Jones, Finance Manager at Apps for Good, who submitted the nomination said:

'I have worked for a number of organisations and have to say Apps for Good to me is a fantastic organisation that really takes care of the well being of the organisation and staff.

'Staff can work from home. We make a special effort to celebrate each other's birthday by bringing cakes and cards. We have regular meetings with our line managers and also as a team.

'We have weekly shop talk were we all share what we are doing workwise and home wise if we choose, and regular communications with each other through a system called slack where you could post work things or just general everyday stuff.

'Our new offices have a roof garden where you can go to and chill or just have lunch, and open plan office which is great for learning and sharing.

'We have exciting projects to work on, where issues are resolved quickly through our regular meetings and catch up sessions
Staff training and development are welcome'.
