School inset sessions - Positive Mindsets, Communication and Relationship Building

The start of the school year is always a busy one for Laughologists.

This year we delivered 16 INSETs up and down the country. Sarah Creegan clocked up the most miles in the first week back. She worked with three schools in Buckinghamshire on Monday and Tuesday. Then she headed off to Durham to work with 200 people from the Peterlee Partnership, to launch Laughology’s Happy-Centred School PSHE programme. Last, but not least, she flew to Italy to work with the team from The English International School of Padua. The school caters for children from 18 months to 18 years of age. And, although it has been established for over 30 years, this was the first time that all of the teachers – from Nursery to High School – had INSET training together, under the banner ‘One School’.

The session was all about developing ‘Positive Mindsets, Communication and Relationship Building’ and, as usual, there was lots of fun and laughter to be had, alongside the learning. Groups were regularly mixed up, so that people got to know their colleagues better over the course of the day. When it was over, teachers headed back to their classrooms to do their final preparations before the children and young people returned, while Sarah spent the evening in Padua - stuffing her face with pizza.
