Laughology goes global

Hey Boris, are you looking for global deals that will build the economy?

We might be able to help. This month the Laughology team packed their hand luggage (we know the tricks to getting through the airport quickly) and went global. We visited over ten countries to deliver workshops ranging from management skills to presentation skills. We long-haul to Japan, India and China and stayed local with our European friends (yes we love you Europe and we want to stay friends) with visits to Dublin, Cyprus, Barcelona and Rotterdam.

Global work presents interesting cultural challenges which Laughology is an expert at navigating. For example, some countries think differently about hierarchy and doing business, so knowledge, research and sensitivity is key to adapting content to suit.

Some ideas are universal, however. Globally, it seems to be accepted that supporting development will help people be the best they can be and that can only be good for business. It also seems true that globally people are promoting resilience in their organisations and want to look after their people. These were the types of subjects we delivered on.

Laughology CEO Stephanie Davies’s delivered several sessions in India. No sooner had she landed back in the UK than she was off to Rotterdam. There she delivered a presentation skills masterclass to the ice-cream team at Unilever. She also got to sample some new Ben and Jerry’s and Walls flavours. It was a tough one, but someone had to do it.

You might be wondering what ice-cream has to do with presentation skills. The team present their new ideas for marketing, new flavours and new ice-cream brands, and effective presentation is key to getting these ideas approved. The session also covered storytelling, engaging audiences and tips to bring stats to life. Groups did a presentation at the end, based on products and brands they were working on. Stephanie watched, tub in hand.
