Growth mindset and Flip it thinking at Organix

Laughologists facilitate training sessions all around the world, but, as the song goes, ‘We do like to be beside the seaside.’ That’s why Sarah Creegan was especially happy to head off to Bournemouth for a couple of days to work with the fabulous folk at Organix, a company which has always been committed to supporting and improving the wellbeing of its people.

Organix is renowned as a great organisation to work for, with a family feel and a very happy culture. However, there are lots of things going on for staff at the moment. The organic baby food industry is increasingly competitive and there are internal changes within the company with new ways of working for people to get to grips with.

Everyone is keen to make great strides forward, whilst maintaining the organisation’s core values and spirit. With this in mind, they wanted some practical strategies to help teams and individuals positively and successfully manage change. As we know, the thought and reality of change can lead to people becoming unhappy at work, allowing negativity to creep in and setting companies on a downward spiral. But not at Organix!

The sessions were bespoke, and included exercises to develop a growth mindset, metacognition skills and FLIP It thinking. As always, there were lots of opportunities for people to chat, share and have fun together. From the early feedback, we know that people have taken the learning on board and are using techniques both at work and at home. And one lovely lady was able to put her training into practice straight away when she got stuck in a lift just after the session.

As for Sarah, while she was in Bournemouth she practised what she preached, in terms of looking after her own health and happiness (as all good Laughologists do), making sure that she enjoyed a long, leisurely stroll along the seafront, ‘proper’ seaside fish and chips and a catch up with her 93-year-old great auntie Eileen. Happy days!
