Free stand-up-comedian training at Constellations bar in Liverpool

So you think you’re funny do you? Now you can test out just how funny you are, while learning new skills, raising money for a very worthy cause and, in some cases, you might even change your life.

We are looking for people to take part in this year’s brilliant Stand-up for Claire House; our annual fundraising event in which a team of volunteers are turned into stand-up comedians for a night.

We are seeking 12 brave stand-up virgins to take on the ultimate challenge of becoming a comedy performer, delivering their own original material to a live audience of friends, colleagues and family in a night of laughter and fundraising.

Each budding chuckle-monkey will get full support from an expert and will be trained in the art of stand-up by a professional comedian from Laughology over four sessions. Volunteers will be guided through the process of writing and performing their sets, and by the time the curtain goes up, will have acquired a range of new skills including presentation and communication skills that are transferable into many walks of life, both professional and personal. Some past volunteers have described the experience as life-changing.

Ultimately however, the aim is to have a lot of fun and to raise money for Claire House Children’s Hospice. The showcase performance will take place on November 28 at Constellations in Liverpool.

If you think you have what it takes, email Juliette for more details.
