Blue_Light Covid Xmas Special
Every now and again, a job comes in at Laughology HQ where the company doesn’t really want to learn anything or challenge themselves or even think about the future. Occasionally they just want to have fun.
This was the request of Blue_Light, a customer relationship management company based in Kent. Their brief was (based on the physical/mental/spiritual challenges of the last 9 months) to give their team an hour off from the working day to relax, wear an Xmas jumper and have lots of laughs.
This was music to Lead Happiness Consultant, Dave Keeling’s ears. There were no learning points to focus on - just interaction, fun and banter (or, as we at Laughology call it, ‘Verbal Tickling’).
So Dave set about creating a bespoke Zoom Covid Xmas Special, which played around with the quiz show format. There were five rounds consisting of titles such as:
- Whose Baby?
- Breaking News
- Covid Caption Competition
- How Well Do You Know Your Company?
There was also a creative round where couples would have five minutes to create a new product that everyone would want for Christmas - the winner was a kebab clock (don’t ask!).
Finally, the team enjoyed a bonus round, which saw delegates racing round their homes collecting objects which matched a certain criteria. Points were awarded for the right answers, very wrong answers and also the most creative answers - all in a bid to win a Curly Wurly (I know!).
The interaction throughout was fun, playful and constant. The laughs kept coming and the hour flew by.
At the end of one of the strangest, most difficult and interesting years, it’s refreshing to know as a Laughologist that some people don’t want to think about anything, they just want a giggle.
